Streets the Borough has scheduled to pave:
- -
Both need to be repaired or replaced depending on condition.
- - Must
install curbing prior to paving taking place and sidewalk must be repaired/replaced if
needed.
- - In areas
that do not currently have sidewalks, we will not require them, due to many of the
properties having very large trees that were planted in the area where the sidewalk would
have to be installed, unless they would be required to continue the natural flow of the
pedestrian traffic.
- -
Curbing will be required. Sidewalks will not be required, unless they would be
required to continue the natural flow of pedestrian traffic.
- - When a property is located at the
intersection of two streets or alleys, property owners will be required to install
handicap accessible curbing cuts for proper pedestrian traffic.
- - When trees are causing damage to the
roadway, or encroaching into the pedestrian walkway on existing sidewalks, they will have
to be removed.
Streets the Borough does not have scheduled to pave:
- - If the Borough receives a complaint or the
Codes Officer notices a possible tripping or safety hazard, we will take the following
action. If there is an elevation change of greater than 1", or a crack or an
"alligatored" area of greater than 1", the sidewalk must be
repaired/replaced.
- - Curbing will not be required to be replaced on
streets that are not scheduled to be repaved. However, if a resident has to repair
their sidewalks, we will make them aware that it is their option to have the curbing done
at that time, and it may be more cost effective for them to have both repaired at once.
