The Mechanicsburg Police Department, in cooperation with the Hampden Township Police Department, Giant Foods and the US Drug Enforcement Agency will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Program on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
Prescription drugs that are no longer needed sit in almost every medicine cabinet in every home in America. These drugs provide a
temptation for our children to abuse or addicts to steal. Dumping them down the toilet may cause problems to our clean water supply.
Dumping them in the garbage may also pose risks to our environment.
This program provides a solution for the safe discarding of prescription drugs that are no longer needed. Simply bring all your unneeded prescription drugs to the Giant Food Store, 5301 East Simpson Ferry Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26. Police Officers from Mechanicsburg and Hampden Township will be on site to accept the drugs. This
Giant is the only location at which drugs will be accepted. The program is free and your identification will not be recorded. All drugs collected will be turned over to the US Drug Enforcement Agency for destruction.
Help your Mechanicsburg Police Department keep our town a “Good Place to Live” by participating in this important project.
