On the date of January 5, 2014, Robert Arnett, 37, was arrested in relation to his involvment in a robbery of a purse near the K Mart in Enola, earlier in the morning, and a robbery that occurred on December 30th at the Scottee Coin Laundry located in the Borough of Mechanicsburg.
Multiple police jurisdictions including Mechanicsburg Borough, East Pennsboro Township, Lower Allen Township, Silver Spring Township, Hampden Township and Camp Hill Borough attempted to conduct a traffic stop in Hampden Township. Arnett refused to stop and led police on a high speed pursuit. During the pursuit, Arnett crashed his vehicle into another vehicle and ultimately crashed his vehicle into a residence located in the Borough of Mechanicsburg. Arnett fled the scene on foot, after crashing into the residence, and was found a short time later, hiding in a dumpster.
Arnett was arrested and charged with Robbery, Simple Assault, Theft, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police, Accidents Involving Damage to an Attended Vehicle or Property and Reckless Driving.
He is currently in the Cumberland County Prison awaiting arraignment.
