WARDLE smallNate Wardle is the new Emergency Management Coordinator for the Borough of Mechanicsburg.

Nate works for the Pennsylvania Department of Health as the Emergency Preparedness Public Information Officer with the Office of Communications and the Bureau of Public Health Preparedness. Nate will be working on developing and enhancing the department’s communication in regards to the public health crises and disasters.

Nate has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Millersville University and Master of Science Degree in Emergency Management (MSEM) from Millersville University. He first became interested in Millersville’s MSEM program after returning from a mission trip to Louisiana and speaking to Dr. Sepi Yalda, now the Director of the Center for Disaster Research and Education about the ability to use his weather knowledge and desire to help others.

Previously, Nate was the Assignment Manager at CBS 21 News in Harrisburg, where he worked for five years and worked his way up from part-time web producer to a managerial position. Nate also worked as a fill-in meteorologist in Harrisburg for CBS 21 and in Johnstown, Pa. for WJAC-TV.

A life-long resident of Pennsylvania, Nate grew up in Penn Township, Cumberland County, and currently lives in the borough with his wife, Kelly; son, Daniel; and boxer dog Cadee.
