UPDATE (12:30 p.m.)

Although emergency repair work continues at the site of today’s water main break, SUEZ has issued a boil water advisory for 13 Borough of Mechanicsburg customers on South Market Street, between Mumma Avenue and George Circle.  A written notice was delivered to their door.  They should boil their water until further notice.  Other customers who experience air or discolored water in their water lines are advised to run a basement or kitchen cold water tap.  This may take several minutes.  We thank affected customers for their cooperation and understanding.

UPDATE (11:30 a.m.)

Other utilities have begun repairing their lines at the main break site.  SUEZ crews are installing temporary equipment that will restore water to all but a few affected customers.  We apologize for resultant traffic delays resulting from the emergency repairs.

UPDATE (10:00 a.m.)

The severity of this main break requires other utilities to also repair their lines.  We are working with other utilities to determine the full scope of repairs, as safely as possible.  This could take until evening to complete.  Until repairs are made, affected customers will have no water service.  Although we estimate that the break is affecting 35 customers, that number could increase.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
